NVG & THERMAL EQUIPMENT RENTAL
FAQs
How do I rent night-vision or thermal equipment?
Renting is easy. Start by reaching out to check availability and dates. You’ll need a valid government-issued photo ID and a credit card on file before pickup. Prior to receiving the equipment, you’ll review and sign our rental agreement. When you pick up the gear, we can walk you through the basics if you’d like, and then you’re good to go. You’re responsible for the equipment from the moment you take possession until it’s returned and checked back in.
What exactly am I renting?
You are renting professional-grade night-vision and/or thermal imaging equipment. This includes the primary device and all associated accessories issued with your rental, such as mounts, helmets, batteries, chargers, cables, cases, and any additional items provided. You are responsible for all issued equipment from pickup until return and inspection.
I’ve never rented night vision before — is that okay?
Yes. First-time renters are welcome. You don’t need prior experience to rent, but you do need to be comfortable taking responsibility for the equipment and using it safely.
Before pickup, you’ll review and sign our rental agreement and provide a valid government-issued photo ID and a credit card on file. At pickup, we provide a mandatory orientation (up to 30 minutes) that covers basic handling, mounting, and operation so you understand how the equipment works.
Night-vision and thermal devices change how you see your surroundings and require extra awareness. You are responsible for choosing a safe environment, using the equipment responsibly, and returning all issued items in the same condition received (normal wear excepted).
If you’re unsure whether night vision or thermal equipment is right for you, just ask — we’re happy to help you decide before you rent.
Do you provide training?
We provide a mandatory orientation (up to 30 minutes) that covers basic handling, mounting, and operation of the equipment. This orientation is meant to help you get started, but it is not formal training and does not replace your responsibility for safe and proper use.
What happens if I lose the equipment?
If the equipment is lost, stolen, not returned, confiscated, or cannot be recovered for any reason, you are fully financially responsible. You agree to pay the full replacement value at current market pricing, plus applicable shipping, taxes, calibration, and reasonable administrative costs. Your payment method on file may be charged accordingly.
Loss of equipment is treated the same as total destruction — cause does not matter.
What if the night-vision tube is damaged by a laser or flashlight?
Damage to a night-vision tube caused by lasers, IR lasers or illuminators, weapon-mounted lights, handheld flashlights, or any high-intensity light source is considered damage to the equipment, even if it was accidental.
Night-vision tubes are extremely sensitive, and permanent damage (“tube burn”) can occur instantly and is often not repairable. If this happens, you are responsible for repair or full replacement at current market value, and your payment method on file may be charged for applicable costs and fees.
Am I responsible for the equipment the entire time?
Yes. You are responsible for all issued equipment from pickup until it is returned and inspected, regardless of who is using it or what happens during the rental period.
Can someone else use the equipment?
No. Equipment may not be transferred, loaned, or used by anyone who is not authorized. You remain fully responsible for the equipment at all times.
Do you provide insurance for renters or equipment?
No. We do not provide insurance coverage for renters or for the equipment during the rental period. You are responsible for any injury, damage, loss, or claims arising from use or misuse of the equipment.
Where are disputes handled?
All rentals are governed by Utah law. Any disputes must be brought in state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah. Both parties waive the right to a trial by jury.
Can a 16-year-old or minor use the equipment?
Minors may only use or access equipment if a parent or legal guardian is present, signs the rental agreement, and assumes full responsibility for the equipment and the minor’s supervision.
The adult signer is financially responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the equipment and agrees to indemnify the Company for claims arising from the minor’s use or misuse.
Please note that under Utah law, a parent or guardian cannot waive a minor’s future legal claims. However, adult responsibility, supervision requirements, and financial liability still apply.
If you have questions about whether a minor can participate in your specific situation, contact us before booking.
What is the $20 damage waiver fee?
All rentals include a mandatory, non-refundable $20 damage waiver fee. This fee applies only to minor, incidental damage from normal use.
The damage waiver is not insurance and does not cover loss, theft, tube damage, laser or light damage, water damage, misuse, prohibited activities, or any major repair or replacement. You remain fully financially responsible for the equipment at all times.
If the equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond minor incidental wear, full repair or replacement costs apply and may be charged to the payment method on file.
